Location: London, Shoreditch

Reports to: Medical Director

Contract: Flexible Staff Bank (PAYE), est. 4-16 hours/week, scaling beyond this according to demand and candidate preference.

About Unbound

Unbound is an early-stage startup on a mission to make looking after your health effortless, accessible, and worth your while. We’re creating a future-forward, human-led health membership where health and wellness meets culture, connection, and innovation - combining well-designed physical spaces, a personalised digital companion, and a community that keeps you motivated.

Unbound is designed for individuals seeking to understand and improve their everyday health - how your body is working for you and how it feels to live in it, turning just surviving to truly thriving. Our approach is guided by our core principles, including the belief that prevention is effective when it's personal, sticks when it’s social, and everything we do must be grounded in evidence.

The Role

A unique opportunity to be among the first cohort of Digital Clinical Fellows and define the clinical voice of Unbound. This role is ideal for a clinician passionate about preventive medicine who believes lasting change comes from a place of joy, not judgement. Your focus will be on holistic wellness and coaching, helping members build their own rulebook for better health. This fellowship enables entrepreneurial clinicians to gain experience in health-tech product strategy alongside your clinical practice.

We are looking for a forward-thinking clinician to be at the heart of our member experience, crafting the narrative of members’ health journey. As a Digital Clinical Fellow, you will play a pivotal role in translating health and wellness data (including lifestyle habits, wearables, and third-party test results) into meaningful health insights that empower our members. You will be the clinical voice that helps members understand their wellness profile, providing clear, actionable lifestyle advice that answers the question, "Is my body working for me?" and 'what can I do for my body right now to build better health?'". You will help members understand the 'why' behind their everyday health and the 'how' of making meaningful change, using data to inform their choices, not dictate their life.

You will be responsible for delivering members’ health assessment reports and will have a rare opportunity to help shape both the clinical voice and product strategy, including the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted health products, in an innovative, fast-growing health-tech company.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Reporting

● Author high-quality, evidence-based, and personalised health reports that connect results to daily behaviours. This includes providing lifestyle and preventive health insights that support members' personal goals, whether foundational, like improved energy, or aspirational, like completing a marathon. NB: This role is not focussed on diagnosing disease, but on providing actionable lifestyle and preventive health advice that helps members cultivate their everyday health.
● Analyse our holistic assessment data, which combines clinically validated biomarkers, physical function tests, and psychometric tests to comprehensively map a member's wellbeing.
● Translate complex clinical concepts into clear, user-friendly language that empowers members to take action, adhering to Unbound’s clinical voice and quality standards.
● Safely identify any results that require medical follow-up and effectively signpost members to their GP or appropriate services.
● Adhere to Unbound’s reporting framework and quality standards.
● Support members via Unbound’s secure messaging platform, answering clinical and non-clinical questions about their health assessment and report.

2. Clinical Quality & Product Development

● Contribute to the development and refinement of Unbound's clinical voice and clinical content.
● Provide expert clinical input into the entire product lifecycle; from ensuring new biomarkers are clinically relevant to refining the member-facing digital platform and reporting process.
● Leverage your special interest (e.g., nutrition, hormone health, sports medicine, behaviour change, artificial intelligence, digital clinical safety) to contribute to product development initiatives aimed at supporting member health goals.
● Ensure all clinical content, product features, and recommendations are guided by robust science, and be transparent about the strength of the evidence.
● Share member feedback and personal insights to help shape programming, creating experiences that resonate deeply with our community.

3. Clinical Governance and Professional Development

● Operate with clinical autonomy under the governance framework and protocols of Unbound and our third-party CQC-registered partner (pending Unbound's own CQC registration).
● Provide constructive feedback to Clinical and Product leads to drive continuous improvement.
● Actively participate in clinical governance activities, including audits and quality improvement projects, to drive continuous improvement.
● Contribute to the design and collection of clinical data for research, ensuring our services are guided by science.
Uphold the highest standards of data protection (GDPR) and confidentiality.
● Champion the Unbound culture both in and outside our spaces, leading by example with authenticity, warmth, and enthusiasm.
Embody the highest standards of professional conduct and personal integrity, maintaining member trust and brand integrity in line with GMC guidance and company policy.
● Participate in required training and maintain a portfolio of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
● Maintain a full GMC licence to practise, and active professional indemnity, participating in an annual appraisal and revalidation process.

About You

You are a meticulous and articulate clinician with exceptional communication skills. You are passionate about the potential of digital health to revolutionise preventive medicine and are motivated by the prospect of empowering individuals with actionable insights. You are excited by our mission to bridge the gap between knowing what to do and having the support to do it , and you agree that lasting change comes from joy, not judgement. You see this as an opportunity to build a modern portfolio career, blending clinical excellence with innovation in a high-impact startup environment.

Essential Criteria

● Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practise.
● Be on the GMC's GP Register or Specialist Register, OR be a senior Specialist Registrar (ST5 or above) who has successfully passed all parts of their relevant postgraduate membership/fellowship examinations (e.g., MRCGP, MRCP).
● Must hold active professional indemnity insurance.
● Active participation in an annual appraisal and revalidation process, in line with GMC requirements.
● An enhanced DBS check with a barred list check, issued within the last 3 years or subscribed to the DBS update service (DBS checks may be obtained prior to onboarding).
● Exceptional written communication skills, with a proven ability to be both clinically and scientifically accurate while writing in a straightforward, user-friendly way.

Desirable Criteria

● A special interest or qualification in functional medicine, preventive health, sport and exercise medicine, nutrition, or endocrinology.
● Experience in writing health content for a consumer audience.
● A strong understanding of the UK health-tech regulatory environment (e.g., CQC, MHRA)
● Experience in a key digital health governance role, such as a certified Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) or Data Protection Officer (DPO).
● Experience working in, or a demonstrable passion for, the digital health sector.
